Keep laughing. Don’t just smile with polite restraint – no, laugh as wildly and uncontrollably as you can. Laugh at the hopeless complexity of the problems we face; laugh at the incredible ignorance of our leaders; laugh at the way our freedom has been eroded, reduced to a thought-experience; laugh at the million ways they’re killing us. Laugh at them.

Your laughter is going to puzzle them, at first, then it’s going to anger them.

See, they know what they’re doing and they know that it’s no joke; there’s serious money at stake and they mean to secure every last dime for themselves. These are the robber-heirs of the robber-barons and their ignorance is matched only by their cupidity. So when you laugh uproariously in their faces they’re going to wonder why, and whether you know something they don’t. They’re all a little slow in the uptake you understand.

But when they understand that your laughter is the sound of an unstoppable, historical force, against which they cannot stand, they’re going to resort to anger and violence. Do not be afraid. They can’t kill you, again. You do understand, don’t you, that you’re already dead?

So join me in this insane laughter that we share because we recognize the truth. It’s over, and we are the phoenix.
